As the popularity of the Metaverse increases, large companies are making moves. These moves, on the other hand, make the metaverse even more interesting. Giant companies are almost in a race to grab space in this entire universe. Without a doubt, one of the most interesting of this race is Disney.

Disney is focusing on expanding its sports broadcasting portfolio and developing its own metaverse universe. CEO Chapek recently said that the metaverse for the entertainment giant is “absolutely catchy”. The company had recently posted a job ad stating that it was planning to hire an expert in the field of non-fungible tokens.

Disney has appointed Mike White as senior vice president of storytelling and consumer experience for the next generation. White, who joined Disney in 2011, has been involved in various situations over the past decade, including as senior vice president of technology and innovation. Will be responsible for spearheading the company’s metaverse strategy. White had also held valuable positions at Yahoo before taking up a mission at Disney.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek stated that the company can redefine entertainment. He said he had the ability to create a “new paradigm”:

“Today, we have the opportunity to connect these worlds to each other and create a completely new paradigm in how viewers experience and interact with our stories.”

After a blockbuster quarter, Disney is focusing on expanding its broadcast portfolio and improving its metaverse work.
